2026 Seasonal Orientation Training Information Page
Why are we here?
Seasonal orientation training for both new and experienced workers is an important part of our Wildfire Program.
The intent of this session is to:
Ensure our crews are ready to perform safely and operate at a high capacity during active fire season
Identify recruits who are committed and keen for the season ahead and fill out our first-up crews
Complete hiring paperwork and introductions
Please come prepared for a work day and please bring your deployment pack
What to expect:
Introductions to Crew Leaders and Management
PPE inspection and fitting for uniforms
Hiring and intake paperwork
Expectations and comportment outlined
Paid day of work related fitness

0700: Meet at Queens Bay Standby Site
Introductions
PPE and Pack Inspections
Paperwork
0900: Depart for Meadow Creek
Travel in Loki Crew trucks
1000 - 1400: Crew Orientation Training
Show up prepared with wildfire PPE
Tools and uniforms will be supplied
1500: Arrive back at Queens Bay Standby Site
Crews dismissed
Location Details
From Nelson, drive east on Hwy 3A along the North Shore, passing the Balfour Ferry Landing and continuing on. You are now on Hwy 31 for about 5 or 6 minutes, looking for Lauder Rd on your left. Once on Lauder Rd, stay left until you come to the community mailboxes. The Standby Site is on your left.
