fuel treatment operations 2025

A What-to-know page for the Harrop-Procter Community Forest crews

Project Overview:

The Harrop Procter Community Forest is a not-for-profit entity that stewards the timberlands that are found directly adjacent to West Arm Park, above the communities of Procter and Harrop.

They are responsible for roads, silviculture, harvesting plans, and wildfire mitigation. This project will allow unimpeded access to the Stave Creek area, and provide proactive fuel mitigation, reducing fuel continuity along the access roads and creating greater ease of access for fire response.

Workers can expect to be working arduous physical hours outdoors, in a team setting. Tools employed will include Brush Saws, Chainsaw, Industrial Wood Chipper, and all the requisite PPE and hand tools.

Workers are responsible for their own personal protective equipment, personal gear, and food and water for the day.

Carpooling opportunities from Nelson will exist - please arrange among yourselves.
