Loki is a full service tree care operation with offices in Balfour and Revelstoke, BC.
Please review this full-time, seasonal opportunity for an Arborist with industry experience in climbing, pruning, and tree removal. A primary factor in consideration will be leadership and professionalism.
Candidates should expect to operate in a supervisory and training capacity.
Candidates should be willing to travel and will be provided compensation via the firm’s travel policy.

This position is based in Revelstoke BC, but will at times require significant travel within southern BC.
The successful candidate will be a skilled Arborist looking to take the next step in their career as a Supervisor.
We are searching for a person with solid industry credentials and an aptitude for leadership and mentoring young people. The successful candidate will have a resume that demonstrates a high level of skill and experience in the Industry.
The position of Lead Arborist falls at the Supervisor level within our employment framework.
The position requires previous industry experience.
This is an open competition.
Candidates applying for the position should have a documented background performing the skills and activities required by this competency-based trade. The general expectation is that this will be documented by a combination of:
A) certifications
B) experience that can be validated by references
Competencies required of this position include:
Hazard and First Aid Assessment
Tree species knowledge, including pests and defects
Rope installation | Tree Entry | Positioning | Spur climbing
Modern SRT systems
Attachment knots, friction hitches, mid-line knots, and bends
Rigging Techniques
Chainsaw falling and bucking
The candidate should be willing to learn new skills, and will have the opportunity to provide a diverse array of services in the forest and arboriculture industry, including, but not limited to:
Residential and Commercial Arboriculture
Urban Forestry and Wildland interface work
Fuel Management and Selective-cut Logging
Wildfire Response
Required qualifications include:
Previous industry experience
Owned transportation and clean Driver’s License
Owned climbing equipment and power saws
Background suitable for a role supervising young workers
preferred qualifications include:
Supervisory experience
ITA and ISA certifications
Occupational First Aid training
BCFSC, BCWS, or CAGC chainsaw accreditation
Certified Faller in BC
Danger Tree Assessor or TRAQ certification
Experience working with cranes
Experience working with helicopters
Experience providing course instruction or training
Resident of Revelstoke or willing to relocate
Pay Rate and Schedule
$36 - $50 / HR, dependent upon certifications and experience
