  • Wildland/Urban Interface Safety

  • WHMIS & TDG

  • S-185 Fire Entrapment Avoidance (4 hr)

Field Session:

  • Operational Safety Briefings / Emergency Response Plans (Practical)

  • Pumps and Hose Lay (Practical)

  • Fire Assessment (Practical)

  • Crew Configuration (Practical)

  • Communications (Practical)

Day 1

  • Wildfire Detection and Reporting

  • Fire Behaviour

  • Fireline Organization

  • Fireline Safety

  • Emergency Fireline Communications

  • Fire Suppression

  • Ignition Operations

  • Hand Tools

  • Fireline Heavy Equipment

  • Water Delivery Systems

  • Helicopter Use and Safety


WHAT TO BRING:

  • Part of this course may be held outdoors, please prepare appropriately

  • Please wear closed toed footwear at all times.

  • These are 8 hour sessions, with two coffee breaks and a half hour lunch. Please bring adequate food and water.

  • Day 1: Pencil/Pen, Notebook, and any supplies you wish for a classroom session.

  • Day 2: Hardhat, hi viz vest, boots and any supplies you wish for a practical, on-site field session.

  • Loki Tree will provide spare PPE for those who do not have it.
