2026 Initial Wildfire Crew Training

  • S-100 / S-185 Training is the minimum level of required training if you wish to apply to work on a wildfire crew in B.C.

  • Initial Training is 16 hours and includes a practical component.

  • Training is delivered by accredited instructors.

  • Ticket is Valid for 5 years and requires yearly recertification.

  • Students who pass the exam and demonstrate practical competency will receive a laminated wallet card.


Fitness Testing:

Those candidates wishing to apply for work on a Loki Wildfire Crew will have the opportunity to complete their 2026 fitness test at the end of Day 2.

  • This course is open to the public

  • Students wishing to apply for a position on a wildfire crew should complete an application

  • *Any student who deploys on a crew with Loki Wildfire in 2026 will have their tuition refunded

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Part of this course may be held outdoors, please bring clothing for all weather.

  • Please wear closed toed footwear at all times.

  • 8 hour sessions, with two coffee breaks and a half hour lunch. Please bring adequate food and water.

  • Day 1: Pencil/Pen, Notebook, and any supplies you wish for a classroom session.

  • Day 2: Hardhat, hi viz vest, boots and any supplies you wish for a practical, on-site field session.

  • There will be some spare PPE to borrow if you are short on anything.
